On the seventieth anniversary of the soa, we see the need to articulate: the tragedy of the soa is not a Jewish affair, but a trauma for both Christians and society as a whole. As an expression of this, rabbis, bishops and ecclesiastical thinkers wrote prayers after Prayer Auschwitz, which were shaped into visual content by contemporary artists, thus unfolding a universal message. We believe that prayer is not a resolution or a word of compulsion to conform to people, but a voice of apology and forgiveness begging to God. The fact that several denominations and artists have joined this common prayer also expresses the need for unity for reconciliation and honest word. We hope that this still, but hopefully sincere voice of apology and supplication can be a sign of togetherness, an expression of humility, rather than tearing and division.
