Bottlenose dolphins are a type of dolphin that love to live in the warm parts of the ocean which is offshore. Some live close to the coast and sometimes even swim into the bays. Dolphins have to be careful where they swim because killer whales and great white sharks like to eat them. When many dolphins swim together it is called pods which can even increase to a bigger group called herds. When dolphins migrate they move to warmer places for the winter which makes it easier to find food. They eat fish, squid and shrimp. This book is very informative and gives many details on the life of a dolphin. The pictures are sometimes distracting and look unrealistic because of the mixture of photes and water colors. The words are very easy to understand and can help a young child understand more about dolphins.
