The Harappa Files is a hodge-podge of short vignettes depicting everyday life in modern India, bits of history, nostalgia and unlikely contradictions. A good knowledge of Indian culture is therefore necessary to fully appreciate this collection of stories. For this reason, I enjoyed the Files less than the other Banerjee graphic novels. Still, most stories are enjoyable even to the outsider, and the author's ability to pinpoint little details of human behavior is remarkable.
