Normally I do not tend to read this genre, but once I started, I could not stop! I felt for the detective although I don't know why. Detective Frederick,"Dolly" Williamson had a devil of a case with the dead body that seem to burn from the inside and nothing else in the spacious palace had been burnt. Poor Sir Chilton looked like he had suffered for a very long time. As new to The Yard, he intended to catch the killer and knew that he needed Sister Rose and her "special" skills, but soon there were more odd deaths that fit the pattern. Now Dolly and Sister Rose were caught up in the occult world, a world The Yard frowned upon. Were they after one killer or multiple killers?
