Sierra Bride by Suzanne Barrett is a sweet and engaging historical romance set on a ranch in 1883 California. To read my review in its entirety, please visit http://bookreviewsandmorebykathy.com/?p=1016

This was a Christmas romance novella and drew you in immediately. It was a quick read - too quick like most novellas - and the ending left a lot of storyline potential. It would have been nice if the story could have continued for a few more chapters. It was a rags to riches type story with lots of struggles in between but some laughter and tears too. You had no choice but to root for Amy and her son Josh to succeed in their new life after having to run away from their old one. I had thoroughly enjoyed Late Harvest by the same author, the first book I read of hers, and look forward to reading others in the future.

Favorite Quote: "Amy drew a deep, exhilarating breath and set a brisk pace toward the corner crosswalk and Josh. They'd lived here only a month, and already she loved the place. It was so different from Park Rapids and the flat Minnesota plain. Its very difference was what made it easy to begin a new life."
