Watched this limp sex-farce under the title "What the Swedish Butler Saw" - one of a myriad of titles this Swedish / American co-production has gone under. The story is basic to say the least: Victorian gent Jack Armstrong (Ole Søltoft) sets up a love-nest with the intention of seducing the cold Alice (Sue Longhurst) following the advice of brothel madame, Helena (Diana Dors). Unknown to Armstrong, Jack the Ripper (Martin Ljung) is living the walls of the building (huh?). The film has plenty of non-sexy full frontal nudity; frisson-free faked sex; incredibly laboured humour; risible dialogue and some hammy, unfunny acting. That said it looks decent throughout. Sue Longhurst is eminently watchable and it is always interesting to see Diana Dors in these sort of roles towards the tail end of her career.… (meer)
