The Marsh Witch follows Josie, a unique and hard working individual in her thirties. Running an animal sanctuary is hard work, but so is countering dark magic.
Good vs evil clash when dark witch Delfia emerges on the scene. I loved the stark contrast between her character and Josie as it echoes the main theme. Delfia appears to possess a strong superiority complex, viewing herself far above the station that she occupies in life. On the other hand Josie is a modest woman. She loves her animals and is a kind and at times feisty spirit that has a firm grasp on what is right and wrong.
Berg's story is engaging and character driven, with a writing style that shows incredible skill. The mythological data was thoroughly researched and resonated well with me as a reader. It is refreshing to know that this Author actually runs her own animal sanctuary outside of her writing. This talented individual writes what she knows and brings every page to life before your eyes.
The Marsh Witch shows us that the power of love is strong and that when we work as a group, nothing can stand in our way.
I rate this 5/5 stars.… (meer)
