This book caught me by surprise. I was interested in it, but I didn't know how good it would be until I read it. It was full of intrigue, secrets, and surprises with meeting Keera and learning about her and her life and career as the Blade and then meeting and learning some about the Princes and other characters and then at the end of this book was a huge surprise and twist. It was a cliffhanger ending, for sure.
Do pay attention to any content and trigger warnings. This is very much an adult fantasy series with a lot of alcohol/drugs, sexual content on the page, scars/self-harm, violence, depression, and grief. I was so excited to read this after reading the first book in this series and I wasn't disappointed. This book was full of more intrigue and secrets being found and revealed. This book picked up right where the previous one left off and answered the questions that had been left unanswered at the end of the previous book. I love this and can't wait for the next book. There's so much more to this story that continues to evolve and develop and surprise me as I keep reading and once again at the end of this book there was a huge surprising twist and I was left wondering what will happen next. Ahhh, I hate having to wait to find out what happens next.
This is a series that caught me off guard with how good it is and I would recommend it.
