0 months to a year - one color for every two pages with two photographic examples and the word in large print. Great for signing with to teach colors and a handful of objects. By 12 months my daughter could sign pretty much everything in this book including most colors.

The board book pairs animal pictures with their labels; for instance, pictures of dogs with the word dog, and a picture of an owl with the word owl. Actually, I don't think I needed to explain that. The book is that simple, and that unexciting. It has some value for beginning education. Kids need to learn to label everything, and they like animals. The pictures are nice but not spectacular, and similarly, children will think this book is mildly entertaining, but not fabulous. On a side note, we have another board book exactly like this one, just with different pictures and words, but we like it more because we created a fun game surrounding the pictures. I guess we should have been more creative with this one, and we could rate it higher. Still, a book should stand on its own terms in quality, and this one is just mediocre.½

This Look and Learn ABC book is part of a language development series that is great for toddlers and preschoolers to help build word and piture recogonition. Its easy to read text as upper & lower case letters of the alphabet, each letter has real objects/ pictures that begin with that letter. Can be used in the classroom for young children to seek out the objects in the book to objects in the classroom, can also be used to introduce young readers to the concept of alliteration. Pictures are bright and colorful
