This book was informative, though I thought that it could have been a little more interesting. It served it's purpose, though.

Precisely what the text says it is...its an Introduction to Reference and Information Services in a library setting. The material is not all-inclusive, nor should it be. With information services and technologies constantly changing - and user needs and requests methods constantly changing, mutating and evolving - this will never be a be-all, end-all text. But its an excellent starting point.

This book was very helpful for references services; however they could have cut out the minute discussion of every reference resource available to man. This book is outdated immediately after it's printed. The bibs at the end of each chapter were very nice and led to much more information.½

This book includes lists of reference resources with detailed descriptions about how they would be useful. This book will quickly become outdated due to the quickly changing world of databases and print resources.

If you are going to hold a reference job in a library, this book will be useful.
