Over 10,000 of Rolling Stone magazine's marvelously pithy, opinionated, erudite and educational reviews of music albums in print, mostly rock, but hip-hop, soul, and some country, blues and jazz are included. There were a few reviews that trashed favorites of mine, but that's okay - they always give backup for their opinions, and I found the book invaluable for discovering new music for my iPod.

My favorite bathroom book. Honestly. But in the age of MP3's, it doesn't seem so relevant. Fun though.
