With seven brothers in the family this series has many stories to tell. In this, the first of the series that I have read, we meet James, a widower with a five year old son. Next door to him lives Marina Kelly, a divorced single mother with a five year old son. The two boys, Mason and Danny, are best friends. James and Marina have been eyeing one another over the past four years but have not acted on the interest they feel for one another. That is all about to change.

As with most stories in which a single mother has gotten away from an abusive husband there are predictable parts of the story and I had a good idea where I would be taken as I read…but…there were are also twists and turns that were a bit surprising. I did not find the entire story believable but it was a quick easy read and an enjoyable way to spend the afternoon.
