I have seen this book very gushingly reviewed by a number of people I follow. I did like this book, but the whole time I was reading it I felt weirdly guilty for not LOVING it? The week I was reading it I was really anxious about a number of things, so maybe I was just not able to get into the right headspace.

I did like it! I am looking over my little list of favorite poems and favorite lines. I think my favorite poem was "Curriculum Vitae," which was in the form of a C.V., and listed things like: "Terminal degree in terror, expected in 2022," and "Heard 'the nerve of some black people' and didn't end customer's life on shift."

Despite wanting to be unhinged about this and not, I am glad I own a copy of this so I can revisit it in the future. I have a feeling a second reading will make a big difference.… (meer)
