Very few photographs or illustrations, very small print. But it gets extra stars for comprehensive coverage and completeness. Most South American guide books don't even mention Guyana; this book politely warns you that "We regret to have to note that Georgetown is acquiring an unpleasant reputation for assaults and robberies. Be careful, especially at night."
It probably deserves an extra star for the great binding and cover art. If one is going to spend several months travelling on rough transport in horrible weather then one really needs a book built to last.½
