Mikey Brooks has created a wonderful scenario with his amazingly creative touch! What starts as an unusual beginning - as Talon fears consequences of his suspicious connections to a school fire - ends up in a totally unexpected way! This is a different coming-of-age story for both Talon and his foster sister, Hattie. From the beginning, the adventure increases and multiplies into a dynamic ending!

The characters are prolific and easily envisioned. The supporting background material "comes to life" in a picturesque way. The Title depicts the main idea well and the cover is imaginative and eye-catching fitting the story well.

It is a bittersweet tale of friendship, trust, perseverance, hope, acceptance, rejection, plus a lot of good discussion material for book clubs. Perfect for the combined YA audience.
