As an English teacher in training, I love that this book exists! This could be used in higher elementary or middle school classes for first introductions to punctuation or as a refresher for students who are learning how to write paragraphs and full-length papers. Punctuation Celebration is a book of poems that give punctuation markers a voice about how they should be used in writing as well as helpful examples.

This is the best book to use when you are teaching punctuations. It shows how and when to use punctuations properly. Punctuation Celebration gives us an idea of the different types of punctuation and what each ones purpose is in the sentence. This book can help students who struggle with punctuation. Commas help a train slow down, quotation marks tell people what to do, colons stubbornly introduce lists and periods stop sentences.

Punctuation marks come alive in this clever picture book featuring fourteen playful poems. Periods stop sentences in a baker's shop, commas help a train slow down, quotation marks tell people what to do, and colons stubbornly introduce lists.

I really enjoyed this children's book. I feel like it would be great to read while teaching or reinforcing punctuation. This book was really cute and engaging to read and would be a good read aloud for late kindergarten, first grade, or second graders who are struggling with punctuation use. This book is also a poem and uses a lot of rhyming words.

I loved this book and how it used poetry to teach the reader about punctuation. This book would be a great tool for second graders and up: I greatly benefited myself from reading this book. The teacher could use this book to teach rhyming words as the school year begins and keep the book in different places in the classroom. This book could be used as a part of a writing workshop, helping students to focus on their editing skills.

This was a cute book, because it showed the jobs of different punctuations. It was very humorous and an easy read. I would definitely incorporate this when I am teaching what punctuations are. This is the perfect book to read before I want to teach punctuation.

This poem book about all the punctuation is a great read. It sows the different uses for punctuation that normally are not used on earlier grades. It is a cute book and has several activities that can be done with it. It is a great way to team poems and punctuation. You can do a punctuation activity sheet or have the students write their own poem about punctuation. Great tool to have in every Elementary class.

This book contains poems for the following punctuation marks: periods, question marks, exclamation marks, commas, apostrophes, quotation marks, colon, semicolon, parentheses, ellipses, dashes, and hyphens. Each of these punctuations are addressed in their individual poem where their usage is explained and examples are given. Complementary illustrations are provided for these personified punctuations within their rhyming poems, which is what makes this such a great read or read-aloud for students in first through fifth grade. Teachers could use this book to address the specific punctuation mark they are trying to introduce or they can read the whole book and the students can see how all of the punctuation marks come together at the end. Overall, I think that using the poems inside of the book is an effective and authentic way to get students to activate or build background knowledge about the usage of specific punctuation marks.

This book is a super cute poetry book that teaches children about punctuation in a fun and rhyming way! Would be great for 2nd-4th grade, and doesn't have to be read the whole way through, since it has fourteen poems in it about different punctuations, it can be used to focus on a few that the students may be learning at the time. Students can learn the rhyme and then take turns coming up to the white board and adding in the correct punctuation to sentences to show their understanding, then they can act out the sentence they corrected using the correct form of expression for exclamation points, periods, question marks etc.

This is poetry collection of poems that celebrate all different types of punctation. Written in shorter, easy to understand rhyming poems, each helps to explain the purpose of punctuation marks. Creatively written each poem also incorporates many different uses of the punctation marks.

This book is multidimensional in its rhyming ways and clever inclusion of punctuation, the name of the books' game. It includes, in this order, period, question mark, exclamation point, comma, apostrophe, quotation marks, colon, semicolon, parentheses, ellipses, dash, and hyphen. The illustrations in this book are excellent and vibrant, drawing the reader in. After each page an activity could easily be implemented to help practice the various forms of punctuation.

This was such a great read and resource that Alex used in her minilesson. I am actually going to use it for an assignment in my BESL class this month. It presents punctuation terms in a creative way and can be used as a fun review for older grades or a great introduction for maybe second grade.

This book is an informational book on punctuation. It goes through when and how to use them. It does this through poetry and illustrations. The poem's rhyme scheme is inconsistent.

The book does a great job in visually showing which punctuation is being focused on. For example, the punctuation being focused on is a different font color than the rest of the text. This makes it easy to understand which type of punctuation is discussed at the time. In "Tomorrow's my birthday; I'm going to be seven", the semicolon is red while the rest of the text is black.

Another example of how the punctuation is emphasized is through the illustrations. The illustrations incorporate the punctuation. For example, to express "parentheses", there are parentheses used throughout the illustrations. Parentheses are used as a symbol on a chocolate milk bottle, is shown through the arrangement of the falling potato chips, and a part of the design on a sub sandwich's bread.

The big message of this picture book is to inform readers of the different types of punctuation.

This book is a great way to introduce/reinforce conventions with young students. This book would be great for students under third grade. I would use it as a mentor text to a mini-lesson on conventions. The rhymes would also be great to print up and display in the classroom for students to reference during writing times.

Very clever short poems about punctuation marks. All are quite clever, possibly too clever for kids. Must test a few of these out.
