The author promotes quantitative methods using computers for analysis, planning, control, reflection, judgment, and decision-making by management.
The programs in the book fall under five categories:
1. Decision Models under Certainty
2. Decision Models under Uncertainty
3. Forecasting Models
4. Investment Models
5. Multicriteria Decision-Aid Model
Three appendices follow the text:
A. Statistical Analysis Programs
B. Matrix Operation Subroutines
C. A Summary of BASIC
Each chapter adheres to the following format:
1. A concise description of the method to be examined
2. A description of the program
3. An application example
4. The output from a run of the program
5. A complete listing of the program
The programs in the book were run and tested on the following computers: Apple II, Ohio Scientific C-1P and C-4P, Commodore CBM 3032, and Philips P-2000. Each of these computers ran a slightly different dialect from the others of the BASIC programming language.
I had no trouble adapting the programs in this book to run on my TRS-80 Model I Microcomputer running Radio Shack's Level II Disk BASIC.
