I have been anxiously awaiting this seventh book in Jodi Burnett’s Tin Star K9 Series and can honestly say that it lives up to my expectations. Trials is filled with emotional family tension as well as the urgent, but dangerous, effort to find Caitlyn’s missing dog, Renegade.

The author does a wonderful job of bringing her reader into the middle of this story. It is not a long book, but I expected to read part of it in the morning and finish it later in the day. That did not happen…I became so engrossed in the book that I kept reading right through to the end. My heart ached for Colt and Caitlyn as they faced both family matters and the search for her beloved working companion.

Trials can be read and enjoyed as a standalone, but I think that also reading at least the book immediately preceding this one may help the reader develop a more comprehensive understanding of the major characters.

Since I have read many of her other books, I happily accepted an early copy from the author with no promise requested or made of a positive review. This book did not disappoint me and I am now anxiously awaiting the next one in this series.… (meer)

Jodi Burnett has provided her readers with an insight into the intense specialized training that police dogs and their handlers require. In this novella Caitlyn and her K9, Renegade, put in many hours as they prepare to qualify for recertification.

Of course, it is not only about training. We spend a little time becoming reacquainted with Caitlyn’s family and there is also the anticipated thriller element. Could Caitlyn
and her dog be at risk?

This is a short novella, but that does not keep the author from bringing her characters to life or prevent the reader of being ever aware of the danger lurking in the shadows.

This book does end with a cliff hanger and a big surprise for Caitlyn and Colt. I’m anxiously awaiting the next book to see how things work out.… (meer)

Jodi Burnett has once again kept me on the edge of my seat with this second installment of her US Marshall Dirk Stirling series. She has also created some romantic tension throughout the story.

This time Dirk Stirling gets involved with an investigation of a crime that looks like long missing fugitive Beaux Crandall may be behind. He and his partner Hank travel to a nearby town in hopes of finding someone who may recognize Beaux and their interest escalates when they discover he has been seen in the area.

Murder, missing children, and complicated relationships are part of this story. Although it is the second book in a series, it is not necessary to have read the previous one to be fully caught up in the emotions and breath-taking thrills of Corruption.

Jodi Burnett kicks off this first book in a new thriller series with a bang. We know the villain from the outset, but the chase is on to keep him from being successful in carrying out his mission. We also learn a little about Hittite mythology as it relates to an important artifact that plays a central role in the story.

The reader becomes reacquainted with a few people from her previous books, but it is not necessary to read them first. The author does an excellent job in introducing new characters and helping us get to know them.

This story takes us to cities around the globe in pursuit of the cut-throat killer who has no qualms about disposing of those who stand in the way of completing his task. There are lighter moments between the agents involved in the hunt that help relieve the tension and give the reader a moment to breathe.

If you enjoy a good thriller, you will love this book.
