This is a *reference* work on the geology and vegetation of Nevada's mountain ranges. It appears not to have a sewn binding but in other ways the work done by the University of Utah Press in creating the physical product seems to be commendable. There are 50 full pages of clearly printed color photographs and 20 full pages of clearly printed color maps. Most of the rest of the book is a listing of the 319 mountain ranges in Nevada, with (on average) half-page descriptions of their geology, vegetation, and sometimes a little bit of history.
To clarify, this is a book that I think very few will want to read cover-to-cover. Enjoy reading the roughly 10 pages of unifying narrative at the front of the book, and then look up the ranges that are of interest to you.… (meer)
