This book was used by nearly all college geology programs to teach field methods during the 1960s and 1970s. Current courses use other texts mostly but still recommend this as a second source of information. The focus of the book is to teach methods of mapping geological surface features. The principles are still the same but the techniques are a little different now than when this version of the book came out. Still a worthwhile book to have and use.
