Sometimes, it is the book from which you aren't expecting too much, that turns out to be extra special. I own, and have read, a host of books about Morecambe and Wise; what else could there be to say?
This book does not contain an amazing revelation - Eric as not a woman in disguise, Ernie didn't get to the moon before the Americans but, William Cook takes an interesting approach to the subject by focusing upon people who worked with the duo. Half a dozen pages of a conversation with Ken Dodd, not only give an insight into the subjects of the book, but also give a more human picture of Doddy than the, mostly unauthorized biographies of Ken.
Another one to my list of cracking reads!

A very British book.
Whilst entertaining and very readable, this book brings out all the prejudices: although Britain took the idea from America, they could learn from us. It isn't what it was, it was better in the old days and humour was all rubbish before the Comedy Club!
Ignore the arrogance and enjoy the comedy½
