If you're looking for an exciting adventure story and you enjoyed Pirates of the Caribbean then I can highly recommend Blackheart's Legacy. This is the first in a trilogy about Jon Sinclair, who, along with his grandmother time-travels back to the Caribbean of the 17th century. Mishaps occur and we find Jon cast with a crew of pirates, captained by Blackheart, feared and hated by other nefarious pirates of his ilk, yet a thoughtful and intelligent man in his own right. There are sea battles, treasure hunts, desperate times and exhilarating victories in store for the young "tween" and his Gram. The story is a fun escape into another time with the promise of more adventures to come. While Blackheart's Legacy is complete as a stand-alone, there is anticipation for more daring do in the books to come. I'm looking forward to reading more about Jon, his grandparents and the Captain.… (meer)
