County has put a lot of thought into his dystopian “Oasis” and it shows. This was quite the enjoyable (and unpredictable) read. Military and civilian inhabitants cope with a last-ditch effort to survive this interesting end of the world scenario, until a strange but accepted on-board religion throws their undersea world into turmoil. The day to day existence is filled with hope yet tinged with frightening complications. I loved all the characters and the science was very well-defined. It’s not so much a what happened/what will happen story, although that aspect was fascinating, as a mystery that keeps you guessing. Helpful images at the beginning of each chapter point out the pertinent locations in his oceanic pod of life. This is skillful science fiction.
