At the beginning of the book Crispin writes, “this collection of poetry explores the complex feelings around / trauma depression sexuality love friendship and healing.” She follows with the disclaimer, “this book does contain references to suicide, molestation, and sexual assault,” followed by specific trigger warning about the pages on which these are described.

Presented as a series of poems illustrated with line drawings chronicling the feelings of a year from February through September she tells of interactions with others as she travels. She writes frankly about pain and abuse, but also about love, familial, friendly, sisterly, and erotic.… (meer)
