The story is very thought provoking and it made me do a lot of soul searching after finishing it. It is hard to explain how it made me feel, but I know that it has me reflecting more on my life. The premise of the story is that a woman has prophetic words that need to shared and a priest will help deliver the message.
I couldn’t quite figure out the beginning where someone was murdering young girls. What did this have to do with the story? I suddenly realized that we were getting a glimpse into the evils of the world. The author lays a puzzle at our feet and allows us to follow the trail to what God is wanting to share with everyone.
The women who travel to Las Vegas each has a part of their life they want to keep hidden. I’m not going into much detail because I don’t want to give one hint of what is to come. The story reminded me a little of a series about Revelations . I liked the references used to help readers understand that something very important was going to happen around the world. God was going to provide signs that show what He is capable of. I loved the symbols used to show that God was preparing everyone for His Word.
The best part of the story for me was that God does give second chances. He listens to us and speaks to us in a loving way. He knows our sins and still loves us. Each character will have a decision to make. Will they choose forgiveness or run from the truth? The characters are relatable and I think we can all see ourselves in one of them. Hearts will chance for those who believe . I kept thinking of the scripture that says, “the truth shall set you free.” What will you choose?
I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

WHAT A GREAT NOVEL

Miraculous Signs

A Message From God

Will The World Listen

Do you not have to be religious to enjoy this novel.

STORY LINE:

Three children in Croatia, Anna, Elizabeta, and Josip, receive visitations from The Lords Mother, Mary. They continued to commune with her through adulthood. Anna, the only one to know the full details, is commanded to deliver 7 prophesies, known as the Marian Prophesies or The Prophecies of Valselo, to God's messenger, Father Mark McKenzie. Father McKenzie has known of these children and made pilgrimages to Croatia. He was unaware of his part in the prophesy until contacted by Anna.

Four childhood friends are in Vegas for a good time bachelorette party. They have all led different lives and have drifted apart in some ways. Two are hiding huge secrets, one is a reporter and will be used by God, and one has a very unhappy life with a former teacher falsely accused of molestation.

Their lives are about to take an unexpected turn, as are the lives of everyone in the world, as God's messages unfold. They will be at the right place at the right time all according to God's plan. The first miracle message is a world-wide snow. But a snow as no other has ever appeared, which begins at the precise time all over the world.

CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, AND DEVELOPMENT:

The Daugther's characters are very believable and are portrayed as normal people. Bernadette is a reporter and married to atheist Glen; Marlo is a renowned fashion model, Tina is married to a depressed, abusive, and possibly mentally ill, former teacher accused falsely of molestation, and Laci is engaged to Detective Joe Corello. Joe is investigating serial murders of sixteen-year-old girls while Laci is celebrating their coming marriage in Vegas. Each character has emotional and life struggles of their own. Each will have to come to terms with their life and decide which path to follow as the authors weave this wonderful tale. Every soul on earth will stand before God; will they heed his message?

The character development was very good and the plotting and pacing was well done. The authors had many threads in this story and wove them into a cohesive tale along with twists and turns that will hold your interest throughout the novel. The authors kept me reading long into the night. What an ending, my mouth fell open; what an unexpected ending to this novel! I am immediately going to buy book 1, Left At The Altar.

RECOMMENDATION:

You do not need to have an interest in religion or be religious to enjoy this novel. Nor is it necessary to read book 1 first, it is a stand alone novel. It was very good book and I would recommend this book to anyone that likes an intriguing story line with twists and turns. The premise could very well happen to us at any time if God decides to give us one more chance.

I received this book from Readingalley in return for an honest book review.

Books reviews of any novel are dependent on the book review author's opinion; book reviews on line and on my blog, are my opinion.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS:

This sexy, suspense filled mystery is a great read. What I didn’t know is that this is the fifth in a series, all about Kay’s brothers. They are on my too read list. A book I would recommend.

Kay has lost her husband and now faces having to raise her four children on her own. So she heads to what is her comfort zone and where her family is…Chicago. And back to the police department that runs deep in her family. All Kay wants is to be accepted by her peers and her family. Her brother who happens to be her superior isn’t going to give her a break at all. Kay although married before, brings a shyness of a mature woman starting a new relationship. She doesn’t know that she is still found attractive because after all she is the mother of four kids.

We get to see Kay go from mother, sister, daughter and detective throughout the story. Something most women can relate to.

In walks Captain Flynn Dowd. He moved to Chicago and joined the Police Department to get away from his troubles. He hasn’t thought of a woman in his life in such a long time and then in walks Kay. And his life gets turned upside down. Not only is she beautiful but she is dedicated to work, family, and friends.

Thrown together to solve the case of the Sidewalk Santa Killers they find themselves attracted to each other.

Kay and Flynn can’t find any rhyme or reason for the killings. Time is now against them and they need to find the murderer of the Santa’s. But they are unable to find a motive.

They also are up against her children as their romance takes off. Her kids don’t approve of Flynn. Kay has to come to terms with a difficult decision…family or the man she is falling for.

I really enjoyed this story K.M. Daughters has brought a cast of very strong characters off of the pages and right into your home. I found myself in Kay’s corner as she faces difficult challenges in her life. Kay had to find a way to create a new life for her family. One of the biggest conflicts was going back to the job she gave up years ago to be a wife and mother. Facing the loss of a husband and moving past into another loving relationship was hard. I was able to actually feel her strength as she goes against her family and becomes a working mother, daughter, sister and woman again. Most of all a woman, by choosing to do something for herself and not others, a lesson we all need from time to time.

K.M. Daughters has written a story so refreshing and alive that I felt I was able to be a very real part of it. Suspense and sexy romance who would have thought they could go hand in hand. She had me up until the very end and then I wanted more. Can’t wait to read about Kay’s brothers.

In the St. Nick of Time – Review by Martha A. Cheves, Author of Stir, Laugh, Repeat and Think With Your Taste Buds

“Two sidewalk Santas died on the street recently from heart failure, according to the death certificates. Both were St. Nicholas Society to End Hunger volunteers who annually played Santa at outdoor locations around the city. They collected money during the organization’s Christmas fund drive.” He consulted a paper he had placed on the lectern. “Both were active, healthy men in their seventies with no prior history of heart disease, according to one of the deceased’s wives. I fielded a call yesterday from one wife, Mrs. Heller. She believes her husband was murdered and insisted that we open a criminal investigation. She stated that Mr. Heller passed a full-body physical two weeks ago, purportedly in perfect health. I’m not sure where this will lead, but I could use a volunteer to do some of the legwork for me.”

Hand raised, Kay Lynch holds her breath in hopes that Flynn Dowd will choose her to partner on this case. The case has caught her interest. So far there have been three incidences of sudden cardiac arrest. Each victim is an elderly man posing as a Santa but each has apparently had no heart problems in the past. It may have been passed off as a coincidence until Santa number 4 passes in the same way. So, Kay wants this case to help prove herself but she also wants it for another reason. For the first time since losing her husband 2 years earlier, Kay has found someone she really wants to be around and with.

Kay Sullivan Lynch, along with her brothers, were all police officers. When she married Mike Lynch, she hung up her badge and became a mother of 4. After Mike’s death Kay decided it was time to go back to the living world. She requalified for her position with the department and was assigned to her brother Pat’s precedent. Her oldest daughter Mary and the twin girls took her new life without problems. Her son Mike was a different story. He felt she should have continued life as it had been before his dad died. So, when she hooked up with Flynn, Mike made it known how he really felt about the situation.

In the St. Nick of Time has it all. It’s has love but I wouldn’t really call it a love story. It has murder and suspense but I wouldn’t call it a mystery. It has family affairs and problems but it’s not actually a self help book. And there humor but it’s not a comedy. What is it? It’s all of these rolled into one and I simply loved it. The trials Kay goes through as she juggles her life on the force, at home and her personal life, and her solutions and decisions for handling life, are so real. As for the Santa Slayer, I could see the possibility of that happening in real life too. This was a very enjoyable book.
