I wasn’t sure what to expect when I picked up Forsaken to read. I hadn’t read the synopsis so went into it completely blind. Hannah had a life that wasn’t all that great to be honest. She was left abandoned by her parents and a very young age and ended up in the foster care system until she was eventually adopted at the age of 14 to a well off family.

Three years later Hannah started to have odd dreams and fainted a lot and was taken to a special doctor, who then sent her to live at The House of Lorelei a special school for special people Hannah thought this was going to be some kind of asylum especially since there was no way off the Island apart from boat. How wrong Hannah was, changing her name and learning a great deal about how special she was the book got more and more interesting the further I read.

Forsaken is a brilliant and capturing book. I was completely hooked. The love story with Finn was so cute, learning about the powers Hannah/Stacia has and all of her other friends. Saving her friends life. The story was never dull.

I read this really quickly, the anticipation was just too much I just couldn’t put the book down!

My daughter is now reading this and she is loving it just as much as I did. I cannot wait to read the second book, Awaken.

Wow Kristen Day has done it again with the fourth book of the Daughters of the Sea Series. In Hearken we see Stasia having bad nightmares and ending up on the beach and they are getting worse.

As a Sea Goddess she has to choose her council. One being Olivia, who none of the council really like her . Olivia is keeping a secret from Stasia though, she is a Paladin and she is there to protect Stasia, not being an annoying hang on that Stasia thinks.

Tragedy strikes in an unexpected accident where we lose a strong character and I think anyone reading will feel the loss, especially if they have followed the series.

Stasia and the council travel to Atlantis for the games that are about to happen. Stasia is having more dreams but now she seems to be turning evil with it. What is happening to her?

Finn is still as lovely as ever and his love for Stasia is every increasing but he has to find out who has stolen the relics that could pose disaster. What will he do when he finds out who stole them?

I loved this book as not only was it about Finn and Stasia but it was told by three different people, the third being Olivia, and I really started to like her. I was telling her to give Sebastian (a new character, from Atlantis and hot) a chance, it could all work out but she seemed to lower her heart walls only to take to steps back and build those walls again.

There is a lot going on in this book, action, love, deception, and giant butterflies!

Very well written as always and I was left wanting more of Stasia, Finn and the group.

Awaken is the second book in the Daughters of the Sea Trilogy and it did not disappoint. Starting off from where the first book left off, Stasia learned that she would go on her quest to the Underworld and plant the seed of immortality and complete her essence so she could become a true Sea Goddess sooner rather than later when she discovers her true birth date. Add to the mix the Princess of the Underworld turns up as a transfer student called Nadia and disrupts Stasia’s life, she reeks of evil and darkness, can pull Stasia into reveries and finding out a huge secret that Finn has been keeping from her. It is very gripping.

Like I said this did not disappoint I was throughly gripped. It was very well written and I cannot wait until Chosen (Book 3) is available.
