My father was a police officer when I was younger so I grew up with the show COPS. We were the children who lived with a partial police dog while getting to roam the share fire/police departments and proudly sitting in the front seat of the police car. This was a welcome relief for me into getting back to the "police" world after watching so many police brutality protests going on since most people don't think what it takes to be a police officer.

True to form this isn't a book that cover the actual police world in all its tediousness, inside struggles, emotional battles, conflicts of family, etc. Instead this book will take you into the world spiritual and emotional may blur while wrenching feelings of compassion, wonder, curiosity, laughter and the knowledge of being able to relate such as in "Skunked" (one of my favorite stories for the phones remind me of my job with their maniacal insistent customers).

The book does a beautiful job of realizing the author's hope in allowing the reader to relate with the various law members who mention their story. There are stories that can rip your heart out, make you cringe and yet laugh, happy stories, thoughtful ones. These are no longer the brave men and women of the badge who are above us but our neighbors, our family members and someone who struggles to live life with a higher meaning to make the world safe.

This is truly not just another police story or a book around the beat but a story of community that has been forgotten.… (meer)

When we think of police stories we generally think of everything from jay walking, traffic stops or the police chasing bad guys. But would you ever consider the police ever having to deal with strange feelings, ghosts or bad karma? Well, that's exactly what you would read about in this book.

Dean presents readers with actual accounts of various officer experiences. Each account is a brief telling of a specific experience. Each officer is listed following their story. Most of these accounts appear to have taken place in the state of Michigan. It's up to you, the reader, to decide whether or not you believe any of these occurrences. Perhaps some of you would be able to relate to them.

Many of us feel as though we have a guardian angel watching over us. Dean has presented officers who have experienced bright lights which saved them from fatal bullet wounds to dreams that saved lives. Many officers learn to trust their instincts. One officer experiences an event where he is sent to camp where the perpetrator had been hiding. His instincts told him not to look in the last window. Luckily, when the perpetrator was caught he stated he was sitting at that window with a gun read to shoot.

Ghosts could be the reason another officer went to check out a disturbance of at an Inn. No one was there but the inn keeper. All doors were locked with the exception of one. The officer was called away from that particular door, but upon her return the door was shut and locked. The inn keeper had to let her in with a key.

Dean does an excellent job of giving readers many accounts of stories involving physic behavior, ghosts, signs and symbols to name a few. If you are a reader who loves police stories, then this is the book for you.… (meer)
