A fitting end to the series. A suitably complex adventure. My only quibble with the series is the way Endurance Points are allocated. You can't seem to gain any EPs after food and rest, unless it has been specified occasionally. So the only way to restore any EPs was to have the Curing skill. Not ideal, but it worked I suppose. Nevertheless an interesting adventure.

This was quite an interesting one, falling into another dimension, albeit rather similar to the world from which lone wolf had fallen!

Luigi Musolino è uno degli autori italiani che preferisco, lo ammetto. Tutti i racconti che ho letto fino ad ora mi sono piaciuti molto, e questo non è stato da meno. Non vedo l'ora di mettere le mani su Uironda, una delle sue ultime creature.

Nelle Crepe è un racconto abbastanza lungo (sessanta pagine circa) che sicuramente vi lascerà inquieti.
Il quartiere Rossella è ormai prossimo alla fine: le persone lo stanno abbandonando, le strade sono praticamente vuote. Dove prima c'era vita e prosperità, ora c'è solo un sottofondo di solitudine e disperazione.
Giaco è, proprio come il Rossella, ormai prossimo alla fine: ci ha vissuto tutta la sua vita, ma ormai si è fatto vecchio e le forze lo stanno abbandonando.
Né l'uno né l'altro vogliono morire.
Nasce così un patto macabro e terribile che porterà a conseguenze inaspettate.

Sebbene, l'avrò detto mille volte, i racconti non mi attirano granché, c'è qualcosa in quelli di Musolino che mi porta a volerne sempre di più. Un po' come una droga.
La storia in sé è davvero coinvolgente e particolare. Musolino sfrutta leggende e creature antiche, anche inventate, in modo egregio, creando delle storie da cui è difficile staccarsi e che lasciano una forte inquietudine (che non voglio definire esattamente "paura") nel lettore.
Interrompere la lettura era difficile, e io personalmente consiglio di leggere il racconto in una sola seduta.
I diversi livelli di lettura si intrecciano perfettamente, coinvolgendo e intrattenendo chi legge. Più che un horror "splatter", qui si spinge molto sullo psicologico e sugli effetti che certi eventi hanno sulla mente umana. Sicuramente qualcosa che a me personalmente attrae di più.

La creatura che abita il Rossella è qualcosa di ancestrale e poco amichevole, che vuole sopravvivere a tutti i costi. Ed è lo stesso desiderio che spinge Giaco a collaborare con lei, a nutrirla in cambio della vita, della giovinezza, della forza. Un desiderio che, forse, molti hanno. Questo legame è complesso e piuttosto macabro, ed è stato interessante vedere fino a dove Giaco si sarebbe spinto pur di sopravvivere. Ci si chiede cosa faremmo noi in una situazione del genere. C'è una escalation di violenza che per me è difficile da comprendere, e che eppure è totalmente plausibile.
Entrare nella psicologia di Giaco è, a mio avviso, essenziale per comprendere davvero il racconto e arrivare al finale, che lascia molti dubbi nel lettore. Il protagonista è del tutto inaffidabile.

Lo stile di Musolino è sempre molto fluido, molte delle scene che scrive sono praticamente visibili al lettore. Anche coi temi trattati nel racconto, che dovrebbero far scaturire altre emozioni, è sempre un piacere leggere qualcosa di questo scrittore.
Ve lo consiglio assolutamente!

This one was quite a straight-forward adventure. Not too convoluted!

Hmm, the first few enemies you fight are too easy and last one is too hard.

This one was interesting how a companion was included in the adventure all the way to the end.

I quite liked this one too, but found it quite easy. There was a section where I had a fight with the oud-beast but no stats were provided. I straight win I suppose.!

The book is split into two adventures. The first part is by far the more complicated. I found that I had to do this part a few times to get the items I needed for the second part. The second part was a bit too easy I thought. An enjoyable adventure!

pretty good, but ultimately not nearly as much fun as the fighting fantasy series. I think these gamebooks work much better when they're a little tongue in cheek, although having said that I tend to remember playing some of the Tunnels and Trolls books and enjoying them immensely. They were a bit more involved than FF too, still remember a little humour though as far as I can remember.

"L'ultimo dei Ramas" raccoglie i primi tre romanzi delle Leggende di Lupo Solitario, apparsi molti anni fa e ormai praticamente introvabili.
La storia è piacevole, nonostante si tratti comunque di un fantasy molto canonico che fa ben poco per presentare elementi originali. Chiare inoltre le sue origini "ludiche": Lupo Solitario incorre in imprevisti e avventure veramente a rotta di collo, non ha un attimo di pausa. Questo è probabilmente dovuto al fatto che un libro gioco diverte solo se continua a presentare sfide al giocatore e questa raccolta, per questioni di "fedeltà" alla trama originale, non può che adattarsi.
Comunque può piacere.

Used to love these books when I was a kid, can not believe I found this at a used bookstore for a buck. Memories.

Read this like 20 years ago just found it in an used book store for a dollar. Brought back some fond memories but was definetely geared towards a younger audience.

First of the Magnakai adventures. This adventure is less straight-forward than previous ones in the Lone Wolf series. I managed to get myself lost in the sewers. It took a lot of careful reading to finish this one.
