- Ramcy Diek fell in love with the United States during her travels with her husband. The Pacific Northwest became their new home, where they built up their RV Park and raised their two sons.
During this time, Ramcy also made a slow transition from reader to multi-genre writer. Her debut novel “Storm at Keizer Manor” received multiple awards. This inspired her to spend more time doing what she loves most: writing stories.
Eagles in Flight, a romantic suspense novel, is her second book. Her third novel “Overland”, a dramatic thriller, followed in November 2020.

Overland door Ramcy Diek
This book starts out with a young woman being abducted and all of the things her and her family go through as they try to get her back safely. It becomes a fight for survival in the wilderness as she not only tries to save herself, but also her abductor's kids. I loved the feisty, fierce spirit of Skyla as she endures the worst she possibly can, yet never gives up escaping back to safety. The book did become a little predictable at the end, but it was a great ending to wrap up this nail biting, edge of your seat story. What caught my attention from the beginning was the strong-willed, fiery heroine, Annet. She was a pleasant surprise, and I kept reading with interest. Before long, I found myself reading historical romance. “What?! I know, right?” I couldn’t believe how lucky I was to all of a sudden, be reading one of my absolute favorite genres!
Forrest, Annet’s present-time boyfriend and father of her baby, had one hell of a time once Annet disappeared and I felt so bad for the man. He suffered, overwrought with concern for his lost love. Seriously, the poor guy! His struggles seemed very real, and I felt empathy for him and his situation.
Alexander (Alex) is the hot-headed, super-sexy artist who Annet had been featuring in her current time. When she meets him in the past, it’s definitely extreme curiosity, if not love at first sight. For my money, I loved the idea of the two of them together from the get-go.
I really enjoyed how Annet handled her crazy trip through time. I was rooting for her from the beginning.
With the time travel, not yet knowing if Annet makes it back, and worrying about Forrest, I had no idea how the author could wrap up the ending of this book in a satisfactory way, but she did it! 🙂

This is a time travel story where a young woman called Annet, who works at a museum in the present day, virtually gets blown into the 19th century after an argument with her boyfriend, Forrest. Quite a Wizard of Oz moment!
It’s an easy and light hearted tale, although it did miss something for me. I didn’t particularly take to Annet at first. However, she did grow on me. For a supposedly intelligent woman she was rather stupid, I thought. She was very loud and opinionated. She seemed to belittle people, too, particularly her own sex. Attitudes were different in the 1800s and I’m sure she would’ve been aware of that. I liked Forrest, though, and I enjoyed the parts of the story which featured him more. He came over as a kind and caring individual. I liked the ending and thought it had a good little twist which rounded things off nicely.
At the end of the day it’s an undemanding and fun read written with a sense of humour.… (meer)
