The Christ Myth door Arthur Drews
The author writes of the pre-Christianity history of dying and rising saviors, then covers the Jesus history. He pinpoints contradictions, fictions, and just plain ahistorical "facts". The book is over 100 years old, written in Germany, and yet it remains relevant in this age in the United States where creeping theocracy is enabled by the number of people believing the Jesus story with every fiber of their being. There was little to nothing in here I didn't already know, since many writers have covered it, with more recent citations, but it was still a well-written, well-researched document.… (meer)
