Frank Dunlop is a former Irish journalist and lobbyist. In 1974 he was appointed Fianna Fáil Press Secretary and became Government Press Secretary in 1977. He remained in this position until 1982 even though there was a change of government. He remained in the civil service until 1986 and then created his own public relations consultancy firm. From 1997-2000 he was a television presenter of a political programme. In 2006 he confessed to having bribed councillors to facilitate favourable planning decisions and was sentenced to 2 years in prison with the last 6 months suspended.

Well worth a read. An opinionated book. Dunlop is a somewhat discredited character in Ireland but he has worked for three former Taoisigh. His opinions of the time are very interesting and he leaves the reader some very compelling opinions.
