1273. French Explorers in the Pacific, by John Dunmore (17 May 1974) This book tells of French explorers in the Pacific, including Bougainville and Kergulen, among others. Kergulen Island, an uninhabited (at least by indigenous folk) island in the Indian Ocean, has always fascinated me. I have also during this time read much of the White House-edited tapes released by the White House on Apr 30. The tapes show that Nixon was extremely unanxious to have the truth about Watergate come out. I said: I expect Nixon to be out of office before the end of the year.… (meer)
