The Beginner's Guide to Alchemy door Sarah Durn
Nicely written intro to alchemy - the Jungian style transformative as opposed to the historical high magic lead into gold type. Although the author does cover the history, the focus here is on self-help and self-transformation. An easy read, but aimed at a bit younger and more female audience than this old retired dude. Nevertheless refreshing and useful.
This is an easy-to-read introduction to alchemy. The author, Sarah Durn, defines alchemy, provides an overview of the discipline’s history, explains alchemy’s tenets and practices, provides profiles of key alchemists, and describes alchemy’s relevance for today. Exercises are included to give readers an opportunity to apply alchemy practices. Reading this book can help clear up misunderstandings about alchemy. Durn includes additional resources for those who want to continue to explore this subject, which readers may be motivated to do after finishing this informative and interesting book.
