This book is split into three sections; essays on Kinski, interviews with colleagues and reviews of his films.

The essays take up over half the book and are tedious and repetitive. The interviews were interesting and gave some good perspective. Lastly, the reviews describe his films and lessening roles and increasing desire for pay and fame.

Overall, a sad tale of a once great actor, who through ego and scandal, became a shadow of himself and a disgrace to his legacy.

For any film buff, this is definitely a worth the time. Great collection of essays that can be used in research or just for curiosity's sake. It delves not only into his movies, but also flips behind the scenes to show his personal life. I definitely think this book is mainly a great resource for film scholars and those doing research and think this is what it would best be used for.

this is a fantastic book of essays about kinski and his filmography. anyone interested in the man, kinski, or foreign cinema, specifically, new German cinema, will find a plethora of useful insight and study. highly recommended.
