When I was at Cornell, percolation theory seemed to be the hot new thing, or at least the hot new thing I noticed. For that reason, I've always wanted to have at least some vague idea of what it's about, and I was very happy with this book in that respect.
It did a fine job of reviewing the field, pointing out non-obvious connections and results, and building up to the deep results, that certain properties seem to be universal across problems and dependent only upon the dimensionality of a system.… (meer)
