This book is about a girl who watched her mother dance infront of people and she wanted to follow in her footsteps. She learned the spainish tradtion and soon became a profession flamenco dancer.

Extensive manual! It is such a great read. It is really loaded with knowledge and wisdom.

While on vacation in new mexico a girl writes down everything she sees in her diary. You can use this in the classroom as a adventure around the school and students can write down everything that stands out to them.

Say It, Sign It is a story about a brother and sister at the beach with their grandparents. Sonya is deaf and her brother, Todd, is not. Sonya uses American Sign Language (ASL) to communicate with others. The authors did a good job of showing what sign language is by creating language boxes in the upper right corners of each scene. This is one way children can learn something new, and learn about the struggles some people go through for their entire life.½

This was a cute story that I enjoyed. For many words spoken by the boy, the girl would sign the word. For example when the boy said “grandma” the girl gave the sign. Along with this, I liked how the girl was free to use her most natural language with her family and the family understood her. I think the big idea of this story is to accept all languages and differences.

I liked this book because of how it has a diagram to show some basic signs in the corner. It also does not come right out and say that the grandfather is deaf. It is subtle and leaves it to me to infer. I liked the illustrations because they aided in understanding the plot and story as a whole. They showed how even though the children are hearing they can relate with their deaf grandpa. Also if they did not have the illustrations I would not be able to pick up on the fact that it was the grandfather whom was deaf. The overall meaning of the book was to show that all people can relate to each other and learning another language is beneficial.
