Many, many photographs of Charles and Camilla through the years and of their wedding that were allowed. Loved reading the stories of their history together. Very entertaining magazine.

My goodness, a review of Rupert Bear ..! What can I say? Each year as a child, I received my annual and eagerly read it, enjoying the beautifully illustrated, poetic stories. This year of 57 being when I was born, and wanting to own a copy purely from a nostalgic point of view. A much loved character, who saw me through many sad and much happier times during my childhood. Rupert no doubt, continues to bring a smile to the faces of small children of each new generation.

There was a time when no Christmas was complete without the Giles Annual: this prolific cartoonist was an institution almost up to his death in 1995.

Is there a place today for another Giles annual? Does he have any relevance in today’s world? Or will this selection of his 150 ‘most humorous and perceptive illustrations’ be enjoyed only by those who remember them when they first appeared, back in the last Millennium?

The space race, smoking in hospital beds, and the sheer awfulness of foreigners – it’s all here for the next generation to enjoy and given the gentle wit of Giles’ humour combined with his mastery of line and expression, enjoy it they surely will.
