Glenn Fobert

I found this book through reading "Coping With Change" by Dr Walter Kaiser. I am hoping to acquire Fobert's 2-volume commentary/study, as it is more in-depth study - what I read here makes me confident it will be worth getting.

Fobert writes out of his deep conviction that the translation of 'hebel' as 'meaninglessness' or 'vanity' misses the crux of the theological point that Ecclesiastes is making. Instead, one should take the word more literally as mist or vapour, suggesting something which is useful and has meaning, but is also perplexing and temporary. His convictions shine through in this work, giving the work a passionate edge enjoyable by lay-reader and academic alike.
