I thought this was going to be about different fabric types, but rather it's different swatches of patterned fabric by various different fabric designers. Fairly useless except for the interesting section at the back which has black and white photographs of the way fabrics are made, for example how lace is woven and then cut up, how different fabrics are woven, etc.

This book traces the use and styles of the modern purse, meaning a fashionable hold-all for women, from the 1900's to present day and includes bios of Louis Vuitton, Hermes and lucite bags. If you like the fashions of decades ago, and the fashion photography of the 1940's is especially great here, you'll like this book.
