Tall Tall Tree is a children's book about coastal redwoods that teaches children about their size, location, and wildlife within them. This book is easy enough for very young readers and counts numbers up to ten, but also includes the author's experience with these giant wonders. Children learn about their age, needles, bark, roots, and all the wildlife including bats, squirrels, woodpeckers, and even insects like millipedes and bumble bees.

This is an educational book that we loved. It's perfect for teachers and also for your home library. The illustrations are beautiful as well.

Thanks to NetGalley for sharing this ARC with me in exchange for an honest review.

This book is about a girl who explores different types of sea animals.

I really liked this book and I thought that the illustrations made it appealing to children and it would be good to have in the classroom for students to learn more about animals that live in the ocean.

K-4th graders.

Have fun exploring nature's secrets with dozens of great experiments and activities on:
Soil and rocks-make your own bricks, and grow a crystal garden.
Water -create an ocean in a soda bottle, and see if water in a nearby stream is polluted. .
Plants - sprout your own seeds, and find out how a plant carries water and nutrients to all its parts.
Animals - preserve a spider web, and make a bird feeder to attract feathered friends.
Ecosystems - create a woodland environment right in your home, and find out what "biodegradable" means.
Conservationism- find out how much air pollution is around your house, and see why acid rain is a serious problem.
With plenty of did-you-know facts, illustrations; and creative projects, youll have a great time discovering amazing things about nature!

This book does a great job at showing the life in the desert. Different animals come out during the night, and different animals come out during the day. Great book to show day and night, as well as the desert life.

I teared up. This book is so beautiful in such a way that I learned a little about Hawai'i and even more about the power of family. This book is both informational and saddening; however, I would surely recommend it to anyone.

Summary:
This book is about all of the animals that live under a rock. This book explains how everyone lives in a community with neighbors. It explains how each of the bugs and animals that live under the rock benefit from each other and their community. It tells what earthworms, ants, spiders, beetles, field crickets, millipedes, nd slugs all do and how they each benefit from each other.

Personal Reaction:
I thought that this book was really informing. I liked how the illustrations were very detailed.

Classroom Extension Ideas:
1. In my classroom, I could use this book to teach my students about bugs.
2. In my classroom, I could use this book as a science lesson to my students.

This book is about a curious boy who looks under a rock to find a whole world of bugs and insects! This would be a good book to read to students if they were looking for more information about bugs. I myself found it boring but I'm not into bugs, however, this is a good book with tons of information.

Essentially, this was built from the framework of The House That Jack Built, as are many children's books, but it was a very well-done example of that variety of book. The field notes appendix at the end was my favorite part..

This book is a fun way to educate children about habitats within the environment. The story has a rhythm about it that adds to the pictures that keep children entertained while they are being educated. Recommended for children ages 5 and up.

Summary: This book is about a young boy who is playing outside on a summer day. He looks under a rock and discovers a whole new world. The story is rhythmical and very easy to follow along. It bolds the vocabulary words, and at the end it has a field not giving a more detailed explanation of each bug mentioned. It also contains interesting facts about each.

Personal Reaction: I liked this book. Especially the end that had all the field notes. There was stuff that I even learned!

Classroom Extension Ideas:
A. A good idea would be to explore the playground. The class could identify any bugs or animals that they saw and write about them.
B.Another idea would be to propose a unit on bugs and watch the move "A Bug's Life".

The theme for "Under One Rock" is that there is always new information to learn, you just need to go find it. The book was engaging because our protagonist is always interested in learning new material and you're never quite sure what he will look for next. I would recommend this book for 3rd graders
