Relatively well written, but missing a better connection between the mc's.
The adult scenes were a bit mild.
There were some editing errors.
Oh, and it actually leads to another book about these same mc's, so it's basically an HFN.
A very short read at about 40 pages, but felt longer due to 'drag'.

The suspense is never ending! It was interesting to read a book from a city you live in so that always adds to the fun and the adventure! So far this series is fast paced and a page turner! The characters are entertaining and it's easy to read. It really is an edge of your seat and so far doesn't seem to be slowing down!

A good story but it ends on a cliffhanger and there is no warning in the original blurb.

Part 2 and the conclusion of Cami and Garrett's story.

There were parts of the story I liked but there were parts I didn't really connect with.
Garrett is MIA when the book starts so the couple are separate.
Garret is a jealous possessive Hero type but he also has his faults. He makes mistakes, some decisions that are unwise or hasty and I liked that he wasn't perfect.
The heroine was a bit of a doormat at times, supportive but I felt there was a bit of blind faith esp were money was concerned.
I didn't like that there seemed to be endless supplies of money available for investment from trust funds etc, the Hero did say no but we were talking millions, just felt it made the story a bit out of touch with 'the little people'.

The story took a direction I wasn't expecting for example....
Palmer, for me his issues didnt work, in book 1 he loved Cami and I thought it was fair enough he got worse with his jealously etc but it seemed a bit OTT.

Also they forgave what he did. He set up basically Garrett to be raped by Nikki, she got off Scott free and he was forgiven when he died, even going to his funeral. I dunno I would have found it very hard to offer that sort of support after the sexual abuse he planned even if he was acting on a traumatised revenge plot.

Also Palmer was saying wasn't worthy but he still thought he could offer Cami something. I just couldn't connect.

Also the fact about the date rape drug, I thought for sure it could be found in your blood stream, surely you'd have had the test in case, until you had the test you wouldn't know which drug had been used and that would affect whether it was detectable in the blood stream.

How did Nikki get hold of the drug? Is it readily available for anyone to just get hold of.
I was enjoying the book up to that point but the plot for me became a bit unbelievable.
No cheating.
No intimate scenes with anyone other than the Hero and heroine, there are vague details of some photographs of Nikki basically sexually assaulting an unconscious, drugged Garrett but he would never have participated in anything with anyone else.

Breadcrumbs dropped for future books in series possibly.

There is something about an overbearing asshole I love in a story. I think because when the author writes a fabulous counter part, the heroine is an equally strong person I can relate to. Rebecca Gallo has hit the right notes with her debut novel in Jameson and Georgie.

Although the synopsis would indicate that it is a political romance, the story focuses on the microscope that once you reach the interest in the pubic eye. Poor Jameson and Georgie cannot catch a break. Once one thing finally gets smoothed over, it seems like another issue is waiting in the wings which is all played out for the entertainment of the masses. The plot is a based on 'fiancee for hire' and Jameson tries his damnedest to make sure that everyone is aware that his singular focus is on winning the White House. But when you spend quality time with someone, it's hard for the heart to not to get involved. In typical romance fashion, lovely and giving Georgie who falls hard first. Wishes- as weird as it may seem - I wish at times there could have been more tension between the two as Jameson was almost my perfect asshole. However, if we are discussing sexual tension, Ms. Gallo can write a steamy scene and make you feel oh so swoony.

To be honest, I rarely take a chance on a debut author unless I have a trusted friend go first . I was fortunate to have won an ARC along with a friend. We both loved it. Now...here's the trying-not-to-be-spoiler. If you stop at the last chapter, you will have a very satisfyingly entertaining read. If you venture to the epilogue...you get a NO WAY moment. And you'll be with me waiting for the release of Capital Promises this fall. For a debut author, Rebecca Gallo has talent and can't wait to see what she offers next! 4.25 out of 5 stars

First off, yes you must read Presidential Bargain first. NO IFS ANDS OR BUTS. Now, that's out of the way and you've read book one, you'll want to read book 2. Although I warned that there was a 'sorta' cliff depending on whether or not you took into account the epilogue, book two picks up right where one left off and prepare to hit the ground running.

What I have learned with debut authors that I enjoy their first release, they improve with writing and gain their stride in the voice of their storytelling. Ms. Gallo didn't let me down. The in-depth connection to the characters was strengthened in Capital Promises. You got more understand of what was driving the MC as they tackle the hurdles of Washington DC. However, Jameson did not lose his 'damn jerk' hero status. And Georgie strengthening as a female lead to show women don't have to bulldoze to have power. The story was well paced and gave the reader what I would say was the best HEA the characters could have.

If you love a story with something you can sink your teeth into without feeling preached at or drowned in details, the duet by Ms Gallo is an engaging read. I'm pleased I took a chance and expect each novel she writes will have us turning the pages wanting more. 4.5 out of 5 stars
