Coming from an interfaith family exactly like the one portrayed in this book, I really enjoyed how the book showcased each religion. I enjoyed this book because it was successful in giving a brief preview of three different cultures. Therefore, the book pushed readers to examine a culture unlike their own. This is important for young children to begin doing so that they do not grow up ignorant of diversity. I also liked that the book was in a first person point of view from the child's perspective. The child told about how her mom, dad, and herself celebrate his/her holiday(s). This made it more relatable for young readers because it could make them think of how their parents might celebrate the holidays. It also made the writing simple and easy to follow. The purpose of this book was to explain that every culture is unique but still share similarities. It teaches children to be tolerant of other ways of life.… (meer)
