The political workings of the heavenly beings is smart, and described with depth and imagination. Author Benjamin Gilad brings readers an engrossing story while interpreting Genesis’ “So God created man in His own image” literally. Glued to the pages, I was taken on an emotional journey between earthly activity and the spiritual interactions of cosmic beings, while glimpsing into their petty and at time nefarious fight for power. There Will Be Hell To Pay is a most interesting, original and compelling read with a solid plot that drew me in from start to finish.

I couldn’t put There Will Be Hell To Pay down – not only are the characters incredible, but the pages are filled with absurdities and humor. This book will appeal to a variety of readers. I was very intrigued and fully entertained by the clever idea of the celestial spheres, the spiritual realm, their activities and thought-provoking politics.

There Will Be Hell To Pay by Benjamin Gilad is a very interesting, very original story. I enjoyed the read, though somewhat distracted by some questionable grammar choices, especially mismatching verb tenses. This was an early review copy, however, so I am hopeful a good editor or grammar correcting software will remove this distraction before long.

The story itself was entertaining and moved at a good pace with clues starting early in the plot, leaving me wanting to know more. Although a fantasy scenario, the storyline seemed believable and the characters were well written and engaging. I especially liked the assignment of human characteristics including flaws to characters who were celestial beings.

I don't want to give away the premise of the story but it seems a good one and I quite agreed. All in all a worthwhile read if you enjoy fantasy worlds, and I hope to find more from this author.… (meer)

The political maneuverings of heavenly beings has never been presented in quite this way. The story itself was interesting with the twists and turns that Jack encountered as he completed tasks to save in-betweens. It was a stretch to compare the workings of Heaven and Hell to government bureaucracy but not necessarily incorrect. There were some inconsistencies but nothing that shouldn't be caught in the final edit. All in all, the book was okay but it was distracting to bounce back and forth between earthly happenings and trying to understand the interactions between spiritual beings and their organizational structure.… (meer)
