I love this stroll through the seasons with Mama Earth. Written with such sweet rhyme and artwork that couldn't be more friendly, I easily was taken in. I imagine this will be a wonderful book to share with a little one and the adults will appreciate its message, too. I sure did!

What an imagination! In this very fractured fairy-tale, Violet and her little brother are taking soup and cookies to their sick neighbor. They have to go through the ‘woods’ and a ‘dark, damp place’ that just happen to be their apartment building and the laundry room. When they get there, there is a ‘woof’ wrapped in blankets in the bed. (It’s the neighbor’s dog.) The food is delivered and the neighbor is grateful. The illustrations help you to visualize what the kids are pretending… the woods and the scary shadows. The neighbors in the building are a nice mix of ethnicities.
