Elna H. Grahn

Excellent memoir of an officer from the 4th WAAC officer class assigned to the Pentagon and to the experimental WAAC anti-aircraft battery. After that successful experiemnet ended, the author attended Command and General Staff School and was the first woman to serve on an U.S. Army General Court Martial. FRom 1944-45 Grahn was the commanding officer of the 2525th Service Unit at Ft. Myer, responsible for 1,900 enlisted women. Includes a very unflattering portrait of Helen Hamilton Woods, who would later become Acting Director of the WAC.… (meer)
