I DNF'd around page 30. Everything was just too jumpy and oddly worded. The flow was off. I wasn't connecting to the mc's at all.

I also thought the sex scenes were bizarrely worded. Strange. Weird.

What I read was steamy. Sort of. And definitely very adult.
But they just didn't flow well. It was like reading hiccups. You start to get into it, there's a Hiccup and your at a different place than you should be.

Anyway, some of my other GR friends and group Buddy Readers enjoyed it. So this one is definitely a 'Taste' thing.

There is a TON of sex. To the point you kind of get over it.

Some of my friends who finished the book (which I definitely did not) said the plot got better and there was more story later in the book.
Oh, it ends on a cliffhanger as this is a duet.

All I know is this book isn't for me. I like a nice smooth flow to my books. And this does not have that.… (meer)

This was different than I was expecting. The first 17% if the book is handwritten letters before the story starts and then they are interwoven throughout. It took awhile for me to get used to that but then I understood and appreciated them and the title even more. I loved James. Like, LOVED him. Mina, I struggled with her. A lot. She was so dramatic and I found her to be irrational and almost immature at times. However, James balanced the book for me. His words at the end got me .

How does this author do it?

This is an insane read. Insane. It is gritty and intense and goes dark in places, that it hurts to read. Yet, that builds the authenticity to the story because it made the book that much better. It helped the characters grow and the story evolve into something beautiful from something pretty messed up.

Strong characters, interesting secondary character who I really hope I see again, and proof that love can survive without care, because sometimes memories can you a person through until the get the chance to make more… (meer)

The beginning was great, with all kinds of hotness. Man, women, orgies. Just like true blood, even the biting and the blood, just without the actual vampires. It was very arousing. The title is very fitting. It's twisted as f***.

But I'm sorry to say, I don't know what's happening anymore. There are obviously missing scenes, that took place in the previous books, which I haven't read. And after almost 200 pages of wild sex, it's a bit too much. And that Mickey guy is just disgusting.

I actually liked it, until I didn't. One positive thing: the Callum-Horse-Cole 'love triangle' (or I don't know what to call it) was interesting to witness, and I truly loved that.… (meer)
