I must say the author has a very weird idea of what muffins and cupcakes are supposed to be. However there are some very good ideas for savory bakes.½

I was wondering how the book would get small pies to hold together enough to eat off a stick. Answer - make the filling more like jam and use too little of it. My advice: skip the whole idea and make small pies without sticks, but with reasonable (amounts of) fillings. Sure these are pretty, but while 'the eye eats, too', food that is more for the eye than the mouth is unsatisfying.
