Tom HamBesprekingen

I chose this book since it is about the North Georgia mountains where I live. I enjoyed the story of the Stonecyphers' travel from Pennsylvania to seek a better life in these hills. The dialect in the dialogue took some getting used to, but it wasn't that hard since I've heard it most of my life. The story takes some twists and turns but ends predictably.

good, well-written, and interesting to read

This is one of my all-time favorite books. Mr. Ham details the journey of Washington Stonecypher and his new bride Lizzie from PA to the mountains of northern GA where they homestead. This book is very well written and researched and is a true delight to read.
