Raccolta di storie da diversi autori 'semi-esordienti', i generi prevalenti sono Horror, Paranormale e Rosa, passando per storie a tema LBGT, qualche giallo e vari altri.

Come spesso accade in questi casi, il libro contiene storie molto buone, ma anche qualcuna 'sottotono' e molto legata agli stereotipi del genere. Certo non è facile scrivere racconti così brevi, per cui va sicuramente apprezzato lo sforzo.

Anche per questo, lo consiglio anche per chi è alle prime armi con l'inglese.

There are a lot of short stories in this book, from more or less experienced authors. Many are from the Horror, Paranormal and Romance genre, but there are also LBGT and a few other themes.

They vary a lot in quality, some are very cliched, but I think the effort is admirable, it's not easy to write very short stories and keep the balance between characters and plot interesting.… (meer)

I picked up "Boyfriend Glasses" on a whim. Every few books I need a young adult fix and this seemed like the perfect book. What a tale of first person delusional obsession. It offered a brief look into sorority and fraternity life, and the story was certainly compelling. The main character, Greta Bell, must have a perpetual lucky horseshoe around her neck because there never seemed to be any consequences for her.

Spoiler: This isn't your typical spoiler. It's more about my reading experience. I wanted to give this book 3.5 stars, but given the choice between 3 and 4 stars, I chose 4. The reason why? The book is a page-turner but leaves you hanging. The author holds the ending ransom and the only way to find out is to subscribe to the author's mailing list. After investing time reading this book, I felt duped. There must be better ways to engage the reader.… (meer)

WHEW. What a freakin' trip that was. Boyfriend Glasses is a captivating thriller following the wonderful and deadly Greta Bell. I have to say that Greta most certainly scared the crap out of me, if not creeped me out for 99% of the book, and to be honest, coming from me, that's saying a lot. The author does an absolutely amazing job making you feel uncomfortable reading from Greta's perspective, throwing us into her screwed up mind with so little as a warning about what we're getting ourselves into. However, Ms. Harper also knows how to make you want something good to happen to her so that she may get her screwed up version of a happy ending, regardless of her twisted mind.

It's been a long time since I read Boyfriend Glasses by Livia Harper and I almost forgot what kind of adventure she sent me on when sending me it then. Coming back from my hiatus, I decided it was finally time to hurl myself back into the mind of Greta and I was not disappointed.

Continuing where Boyfriend Glasses leaves off, Greta and Blake are happily in love. Well, okay, maybe it's one-sided. It's been so long that I almost forgot how twisted both Greta and Blake are, but I did not receive a subtle reminder I felt was necessary to remind me. No, I was thrown into the deep of their twisted minds.

While this contains a more graphic sexual nature, it complimented their psychotic minds.
