As with most books in my library, I am late to read this book. It's a good read and it is easy to see why it has been quoted in a number of other books relating to the Stone-Campbell religious heritage. Kentucky is an especially important state to the Disciples of Christ, as it is where Barton W. Stone ministered for many years and is buried at Cane Ridge.

The book is well-researched and documented. The chapters discussing the splits which led to divisions resulting in non-instrumental churches of Christ and independent Christian Churches/Churches of Christ being listed separately from the Disciples are reasonably fair, considering that the book is written by a member of the DOC.

A reader may notice a few typos, as did I, but overall the quality is good. There are a few photos which enhance the book. There is a helpful index.… (meer)
